La Puente expects to scrape by this year with a narrow but balanced budget, despite drawing several well-known businesses in the past year, according to City Manager David Carmany.
The financial outlook for the city of roughly 40,000 looks better than in previous years, but the city will need to watch its spending closely, Carmany said.
“It’s not ‘happy days are here again’,” Carmany said. “It’s going to be another year where we’re going to have to mind the nickels and dimes.”
