The City Council on Tuesday hired a veteran city manager who brings 30 years of experience working in city government.
David Carmany, whose contract in Manhattan Beach was not renewed earlier this month, will replace Bret Plumlee who left to head Los Alamitos in Orange County.
Carmany’s hiring comes only two weeks after council appointed Interim City Manager Martin Lomeli to lead La Puente during the search process. Plumlee resigned at the end of October.
The newly hired city manager said he sees many of the same problems facing other Californian cities in La Puente.
