Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law a measure to help the City of La Puente further utilize newly acquired funding from the County of Los Angeles to benefit the overall livelihood of residents in the city. Senate Bill 361, authored by Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez, O.D. (D – West Covina), allows La Puente to use this much-needed money in order to jump-start improvement projects, such as lighting, traffic lights, construction of community centers and land for parks. The bill passed through the California State Legislature with unanimous bipartisan support which will give the city the opportunity to revitalize its space and enhance livability for its 40,000 residents.
