A South Bay native and 28-year firefighting veteran has been tapped to lead the Manhattan Beach Fire Department, city officials announced Wednesday.
In a statement Wednesday, City Manager Dave Carmany touted Espinosa’s fire protection experience and commitment to leadership.
Robert Espinosa, the current fire chief in Rialto and a former assistant fire chief in Long Beach, will replace interim Fire Chief Ken Shuck. The announcement ends a yearlong search for the department’s next leader.
