“City Manager David Carmany is leaving this small coastal town to head a bigger seaside municipality: Manhattan Beach.
“I’m humbled and honored by the great career opportunity that Manhattan Beach presented,” Carmany said Thursday. “It’s certainly been a privilege to serve the community of Seal Beach. I wish the community all the best going forward.”
Carmany will take over his new position on Jan. 10, following confirmation by the Manhattan Beach City Council next Tuesday. Council members there have interviewed Carmany, one of more than 90 applicants for the job, and “no obstacles” are expected to his hiring, Manhattan Beach City Councilman Mitch Ward said Thursday.”
